John Calvin

John Calvin has been with the University of Toronto since 2002. As part of the Unix Systems Group, he is responsible for the current back-end design, implementation, and operation of the Blackboard Academic Suite.

In his previous position as Senior Network Analyst for the University, he was responsible for the diagnosis and resolution of backbone network events affecting the world's largest campus network, comprising over 400 network segments and over 96,000 devices.

Before joining the University, John consulted on disaster recovery plans for clients in the banking, brokerage, and military sectors. John is a regular presenter at the TechKnowFile conference.
