Ilone Harrison is the University’s Freedom of Information (FOI) & Privacy Coordinator, Co-Chair of the Ontario Privacy Professionals Community of Practice, and past Chair of the Council of Ontario Universities (COU) FIPPA Coordinators Subcommittee. Coming from an information systems background, Ilone has worked in financial management, administration of academic programs, and been active in governance and teaching in the Ontario post-secondary education sector for more than twenty years. Since FIPPA coverage began for Ontario universities in 2006, Ilone’s role has involved implementation of university FIPPA-related policies and practices. She has recently made conference presentations on topics such as “Access & Privacy Practices for Advancement”, “Emergency Disclosure of Personal Information” and “Building an FOI Team”, and organized the first COU FIPPA Coordinators Conference, “Access & Privacy in the Academic Environment”.
