Cherokee, NginX, Lighttpd and other alternatives to Apache

Hello folks,

Does anyone on here have any experience with Cherokee, NginX, Lighttpd or other alternatives to the Apache web server?

I'm looking for something lightweight (like NginX or Lighttpd) that is very stable (unlike Lighttpd) and has good documentation and support (unlike NginX). Oh, and it should also do fancy stuff, like proxying, load balancing/distribution, FastCGI and its flavours, Java JNLP, etc. So far I'm leaning towards the Cherokee web server after playing with both Lighttpd and NginX... but then again, I'm just starting to evaluate it.

What are your thoughts?

Rouben

We've always been with Apache

We've always been with Apache unless it's our sparc server but for data recovery and security we stick with apache.
