ITS 104: Basic Disaster Prevention

Date:
May 26, 2009 - 1:30pm - 2:30pm
Location:
TechKnowFile 2009 Conference, UC 179
Presenter/Moderator:
Peter St. Onge

Given the ubiquitousness of computers in scholarship, unexpected loss of data (hard drive crash, server crash, accidental deletion, malevolent coffee) remains an important threat to guard against. This session will focus on topics useful to end users as well as technical staff, and end with a survey of disaster prevention resources on campus.

Great crash course!

The crash course that Pete gave at TKF would be so useful to so many people. Even though I have the know hows, it certainly reminded me to be more diligent with my backups. I am stealing this one from Greg.... "The future is uncertain.. back-up now!" -- A little fortune cookie line for everyone. :)
