802.11n - The New Standard in Wireless LANs
The new IEEE 802.11n wireless LAN standard increases data speeds by an order of magnitude compared to the legacy IEEE 802.11a/g standard. Speeds exceeding Fast Ethernet, combined with the benefits of mobility and elimination of per-port cost, make the new generation of wireless LANs a compelling alternative to traditional wired switches for the primary connectivity edge in the enterprise.
In this talk, we outline the technology concepts and benefits of the 802.11n standard, and discuss design considerations in building enterprise-wide wireless LANs. We also present case studies of the "all wireless enterprise edge", highlighting key architecture and implementation considerations in supporting converged voice/video/data applications over 802.11n wireless LANs.
